Books in print being replaced by electronic versions has been widely talked about, just like digital cameras making cameras that use film obsolete. Recently the Encyclopedia Britannica, which has been in print for over two centuries and is regarded as the most authoritative in the world, has announced their decision to go out of print, but will continue to provide an electronic version. Print versions being replaced by electronic publications, is huge news in the European publishing industry.
I think that this type of "tool" book will gradually have less living space due to the availability of information on the internet. But for some novels and short writings, it is more intimate and cozy to read them as printed matter.
